Who is the 11-year-old taking on adult chess players in Madison?

Anna Hansen:

Aspiring chess champion Lincoln Olson, 11, was challenging community members to play him in chess on the Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmers’ Market. Olson has been playing at the market for the last two weeks trying to raise money for upcoming travels to national tournaments.

Eleven-year-old Lincoln Olson played 12 games of chess against competitors twice his age at the Dane County Farmers’ Market. His only losses were one game and a tooth.

Olson is a proud member of the Edgewood Campus School’s chess team, playing since last fall. He also played in a national competition in May, ranking 40th in his division, or in the top 24%.
