Jim, Thank you so much for posting this. Now I understand better why my coach (yes, I played basketball in high school — for two years, after Title IX was passed) revered Wooden the way she did. I feel fortunate to have met him and shaken his hand — at the 1973 NCAA Finals in St. Louis. UCLA versus Providence; Walton versus DiGregorio. The good old days.
