Madison Schools Board of Education Election Site Update

I’ve added several items to the Spring, 2006 Madison School Board election page:

  • Arlene Silveira’s response to the Northside Planning Council’s Questions;
  • Letters supporting candidates:
    • Progressive Dane’s Nick Berigan: Silveira’s actions prove she belongs on School Board (Duplicate post with more comments from Joan Knoebel, Jerry Eykholt and Marisue Horton)
    • Madison School Board Member Ruth Robarts: Cole has kids’ best interest at heart
    • Parent Jim Zellmer: Cole is the best choice for Madison’s future generations.

Parent Marisue Horton posted words for Arlene in the comments below.

  1. Board’s Not About Power But About Future Education

    I’m a parent, a volunteer and a citizen wishing to help our fine Madison School District. Over the past year of attending board of education meetings I’ve discovered it’s all about politics. Delaying decisions about building is not for the good of our community, and with an annual board salary of $4,000, it can’t be about the money. Decisions, discussions and solutions for resolution on any topic can take days or weeks, and in the case of school overcrowding and growth — years.
    Is this about power or the education of our future generation? Do your research and head to the polls to vote for the candidates you feel will make good decisions. Vote for candidates with experience, who do their research and actually understand the issues we face, who will work to improve our entire district and community. Support Arlene Silveira for school board.
