Edward Blum

Fortunately, the U.S. Justice and Education departments are bringing the lawbreaking to light. In August, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division told Duke University’s law school that it had violated the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon concluded that Duke “continues to intentionally discriminate,” citing internal communications reflecting “a sustained, determinative emphasis on racial diversity in admissions and a deliberate effort to preserve racial outcomes.”
