Notes on the declining rigor of the SAT 
Were the California professors clamoring to reinstate the SAT aware of these changes? With reading passages as short as 25 words, the SAT has abandoned even trying to test whether a student is able to focus their attention for more than a few minutes.
When the two main college entrance exams become shells of what they once were, it undermines all of higher education. I believe this is why many of the most serious academic institutions in the country now either accept or favor the CLT. At West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy, we aren’t just an option; we have been declared the “gold standard” by the Secretary of War. This movement is already reshaping the educational track students aspiring to attend our top service academies are taking in high school. Add to this our early-adopter institutions, such as Hillsdale, the University of Dallas, and Thomas Aquinas College, for whom the CLT has become the main college entrance exam.
