Roughly six months into the Monona Grove School District’s efforts to sell two properties, the district is still searching for a buyer for one and has ditched plans to sell the other.
At a June meeting, the Monona Grove School Board approved plans to request a letter of intent from the city of Monona, giving the city until Aug. 31 to say whether it’s interested in buying the Maywood School building at 902 Nichols Road.
The school district had not heard from the city as of late June, but “we remain in close contact with city officials,” Superintendent Tanya Fredrich said.
Monona Mayor Nancy Moore said the city is evaluating the site’s condition and possible uses before making any decisions.
