“people are members of an administrative class”

Jason Locasale:

The problem is that the erosion of academia did not stem from a lack of conservative viewpoints. It came from an administrative takeover and the corporatization of universities. Bureaucracies expanded. Administrators accumulated power. Scholarship, research, and teaching became secondary. The same administrators continue moving from institution to institution, getting promoted along the same career track while outsiders, independent thinkers, and the strongest scientists are marginalized.

Conservatives should not assume that changing the values statement changes the institution. The values statement was never the institution.
