UK has the highest property taxes of any major economy

Property taxes make up 3.7 per cent of the total economy — the highest level in the group of advanced economies, according to comparisons compiled by Ryan, a tax firm. 

France and Canada have the second-highest property tax burdens at 3.4 per cent, followed by Belgium and Luxembourg at 3.3 per cent, according to Ryan’s annual business rates review.
