The West Bend School Board (WBSB) voted unanimously to merge West Bend East and West High Schools, beginning with the 2027-2028 school year, during their meeting Monday night.
The West Bend high schools have been split as East and West for 55 years, beginning with the 1970-71 school year, yet have always shared one campus, making it Wisconsin’s, and one of the country’s, most unique high schools.
Since the two schools in one building have been unveiled, there have been several attempts to put the toothpaste back in the tube and consolidate them back into one high school, but until now those attempts had been unsuccessful.
