Trevor Packer and Priscilla Rodriguez present an interesting fact pattern in their letter “College Board Hasn’t Dumbed Down Its Tests” (Dec. 9).
1. There has been a national decline in K-12 math preparation and engagement.
2. The percentage of students scoring highly on the company’s Advanced Placement exams and SAT hasn’t changed over time.
3. The tests haven’t gotten easier.
Unfortunately, all three claims can’t be true. Similar to the popular business maxim about being better, faster and cheaper, you must “pick two.”
