Milwaukee K-12 Discipline Policy Investigation
Milwaukee Public Schools is under federal investigation based on allegations about how the district considers race in disciplinary practices, the U.S. Department of Education said Aug. 18.
The department’s Office of Civil Rights announced its investigations into MPS and another school district – in Fayetteville, Arkansas – as it shared new guidelines against school discipline policies that aim to reduce racial disparities.
