Former Sun Prairie East High School Principal Renee Coleman resigned following an investigation into her conduct, the Sun Prairie Area School District Board of Education said Friday.

The third-party investigation, carried out by MWH Law Group’s Attorney Emery Harlan, was initiated following a complaint about Coleman’s conduct in a press box during a staff convocation on Aug. 27.

According to the district, the investigation found that Coleman made inappropriate comments throughout the convocation, “including during the National Anthem, student performance, and speeches.”

Coleman allegedly made inappropriate comments about SPASD Superintendent Brad Saron and used a slur when referring to students performing a dance routine.

The money quote from the now-former principal at Sun Prairie East high school:

“I cannot be fired because I am black.”

Wrong, again, Renee Coleman. (O.K., you were pressured to resign, so as to avoid possible litigation. But the result is the same.)
