Art Rainwater was elevated (no one else applied) to Superintendent when
Cheryl Wilhoyte was pushed out. Perhaps Madison will think different this time and look outside the traditional, credentialed Superintendent candidates. The District has much work to do - quickly - on the basics, reading/writing, math and science. A steady diet of
reading recovery and
connected math along with above average spending of nearly
$15k/student per year has not changed student achievement.
