MMSD to get continuous improvement grants

According to a media release from DPI, the MMSD will receive $135,000 in continuous improvement grants:
District School Improvement Grant $80,000
Alliance for Attendance Grant $20,000
Early Literacy Grant $35,000
I haven’t seen any comment from the MMSD.

  1. I’ve been told that these are essentially non-competitive grants that were awarded by DPI to MMSD (and several other districts around the state) based on student performance not meeting some of the performance benchmarks under No Child Left Behind.
MMSD simply needs to submit a plan to DPI to access these funds.
